Meet Elton

Intro

​

Originally from Durban, South Africa, I have lived in England for the past 23 years. During this time I have become a British citizen, been a homeowner for 20 years and contributed to the birth and upbringing of my two offspring.

​

In June 2021 I sold my home and the vast majority of my belongings to embark on a long-term photography and travel project with the aim of capturing as much of the world in images and video as I possibly can. I purchased a classic Hymer motorhome/campervan and my pooch, Shaka, a 13yo Staffordshire terrier and I moved into it in August 2021.

​

I am a lover of people and learning about different cultures, beliefs and values and have dreamt of travelling the world since an early age when I first saw Sir David Attenborough on the telly box in Blue Planet. All I wanted to do was to travel and photograph wildlife from all over the world. In all honesty, the actual dream was to be part of Sir David's photography team travelling around the world with them! Sadly, that didn't work out, but it is within my power to make the travel possible.

I love animals and for as long as I can remember, have had at least 1 pet in my life. A constant was always having a dog. But I have also owned rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, African Grey parrots, Budgies Cockatiels, Cats, Snakes, fish (I had a 6000litre marine fish setup), chameleons and even an ant farm!

Photography

​

I began my photography journey at the tender age of 5 when I got access to my first camera and was tasked with taking portraits of my grandparents together as travelled around South Africa. I was drawing and sketching from a similar age and loved drawing wildlife and portraits. I was also pretty handy at drawing architectural structures. Photography is simply another means through which I can express my creativity.

With over 40 years behind a lens, I have shot all genres in all lighting conditions.

​

Internet technology

​

I was one of the earliest Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers with a specific focus on the Internet. Since acquiring this certification I have worked primarily in Internet tech companies of varying sizes. I personally preferred and enjoyed working for smaller startups the most as it was very rewarding to be involved in the growth and success of these startups. 

​

During the course of my IT career, my role as a Technical Consultant (later called Pre Sales Engineer or Sales Engineer) consisted of several different hats that needed to be worn. Technical salesman, business analyst, project manager, trainer and account manager. 

​

I won several awards and accolades during my career with different companies I was employed with including numerous 'Sale of the Year', 'Consultant of the Year', 'Deal of the Year' and 'Project manager of the Year' awards.

​

Through the course of my career in IT, and subsequently, as a business owner, I have designed and launched in excess of 200 websites ranging in complexity from simple websites for solopreneurs to large multi-million-pound bespoke websites for some of the largest brands within the UK.

​

I am hardworking, professional and dedicated to providing excellent customer service and outcomes.

I am honest, sometimes too honest according to some of my friends, and trustworthy always showing absolute respect to every client I work with, whether we are working on a photoshoot together, or I'm building a website for them or indeed, I'm looking after their home and/or pets.
